The Missing Piece in Your Health Class:

Faces of Hope and Families of Hope Video

Why is this classroom presentation important to students, schools and the community?

The videos show the importance of marriage and a family to youth.

The videos promote abstinence by showing a teen couple who chose adoption for their baby and the reasons behind their decision.

The videos help youth see the long-term consequences of sexual activity before marriage and increase dramatically their personal attitude about  being abstinent and not having a child out-of-wedlock.

If you are in education long enough, you will begin to teach the children of the students you once had in the classroom.  By teaching the value of marriage, family and healthy choices, you can also help the next generation of students.

Research shows that sexually active youth are more likely to use drugs and alcohol, have behavior problems in school, to be depressed, and are more likely to attempt suicide. (Search Institute)

Sexually active youth are at greater risk for infertility, cancer and some sexually transmitted diseases such as HPV which current birth control, including condoms are not effective in preventing.  More women die of HPV than AIDS.

“Children born out of wedlock and whose parents divorce are much more likely to experience poverty, abuse and behavioral and emotional problems, have lower academic achievement, and use drugs more often.  Single mothers are much more likely to be victims of domestic violence.  For children whose parents remain married, however, the benefits are real.  Adolescents from these families have been found to have better health and are less likely to be depressed, are less likely to repeat a grade in school and have fewer developmental problems.” Heritage Foundation Research
